Having a much less immediately lethal form of leukemia and being an adoptive dad of a Chinese girl, this story hits home: a kid in Ohio adopted from China has a nasty version of leukemia, and is in desperate need of a bone-marrow transplant.  There’s this little problem, however, about finding a genetic match from family members…

Em and I have talked about this and she not only is willing to be registered but is thinking about how to start a group of adopted kids from Asian countries to do this. Not out for allnly for other adopted kids, of course, but her thought was the more people registering the more likely a match could be found with in their racial group.
